About

Sorcha Richardson is an independent consultant, curator, and first and foremost, lover of art.

After graduating with a degree in History of Art and Architecture, from Trinity College, Dublin, she gained an MLitt in Art and Business from the University of Aberdeen, where she honed her skills at the intersection of art and commerce.

Following this, she spent twelve years at White Cube, London, where her role involved not only presenting art but also nurturing and advancing the careers of emerging and established artists. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with notable figures such as Ibrahim Mahama, Tracey Emin, Beatriz Milhazes, Robert Irwin, Etel Adnan, and Michael Armitage, strategically managing high-profile projects and exhibitions that have left a significant mark on the contemporary art scene.

Alongside her work as an artist liaison, she played a key role in shaping the development of the gallery, and its curatorial function, as part of its senior leadership team.

Most recently, Sorcha held the position of Director of Curatorial Strategy for an innovative app-based platform, Artfeed, which combines the best features of a social network with the security of a trusted digital art marketplace.

Having lived in the Middle East as a child, and now based in Cairo, she currently spends much of her time researching artists in the MENA region, alongside advising artists, collectors and organisations both in Egypt and internationally.

She remains connected to the visual art community in her home country through her support of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin and the Douglas Hyde Gallery, Trinity College.
